Amanda is a Chicago-based actor and educator. On stage, she has had the pleasure of working with Steppenwolf, Court Theatre, Sideshow Theatre Company, and First Floor Theater, where she is a co-founder and company member. In 2019, she was named one of the Fifty People Who Really Perform for Chicago in Newcity Stage for her work with FFT.

Amanda is a co-owner of Black Box Acting alongside Eric Gerard and Andrew Cutler. Amanda has made her home at Black Box for the better part of a decade, beginning as a student in The STUDIO, then training in The ACADEMY, and completing her teacher training in 2017. She now holds the title of Creative Director at Black Box (though she’ll still be in the classroom as much as possible.)

Originally from Los Angeles, Amanda relocated to Chicago for college and has been there ever since. She holds degrees in Theater and Performance Studies and English Language and Literature from the University of Chicago.

She would love to talk to you about traveling to Scandinavia (you should immediately), Appointment Television (please don’t make plans with her on a Sunday night), and The Goodest Boy (her dog, Hank.) She is sorry to tell you she genuinely enjoys the taste of Malört.

Amanda can work as a local hire in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and the Twin Cities.
